Warner Bros. announced more The Lord of the Rings films are coming.
Variety reports the first of a new batch of live-action films will be released in 2026 and will focus on Gollum, played by Andy Serkis. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav sain in an earnings call on Thursday (May 9) that original The Lord of the Rings filmmaker Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens will be producing the film.
In a press release, the working title of the upcoming film is Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum. Serkis will direct and reprise his role as the legendary, middle-earth character.
