Gee, I wonder why? The Fever played their first preseason home game last night in front of 13,028 people. That’s more than triple what the Fever averaged in attendance per game last season. The allure of Caitlin Clark on the court is undeniable. The fever would squeak out a 83-80 win over Atlanta. Clark had just 12 points, but also had 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Not bad when you remember she’s only been on a WNBA court for a few weeks. Still, fans showed up for a preseason game that was rescheduled due to the Pacers playoffs.
The Fever will kick off their season officially Tuesday on the road against Connecticut on ESPN2. They’ll then head back home for a Thursday night game hosting New York in one of only 2 Fever home games that are not currently scheduled for national television.
