Moviegoers want shorter films.

From Study Finds a new poll of 2,000 adults conducted by Talker Research reveals 92 minutes should be the ideal run time for movies.  Only 2% feel movies should be longer than two-and-a-half hours.   15% said they would sit through a flm that lasts two hours or more.
