Baseball’s Luke Gaffney is the Big Ten Freshman of the week for the 5th time, they’ve been handing out the award for 10 weeks. Gaffney reached the 50-RBI benchmark Friday and broke the program’s freshman RBI record with his grand slam Saturday. For the week, he had 3 home runs and 8 RBIs. The Boilers host an Evansville team tomorrow night that has won 8 straight. That game has been moved from Tuesday night.
🖐️ The Gaffney 5: 3-HR, 8-RBI week equaled out to a 5th B1G Freshman of the Week honor. Repeat honoree twice now.
DYK: @TheLukeGaffney is the 1st B1G player to reach 50 RBI this year. And the 1st #Boilermaker to homer in 4 straight games since 2016.
