The Rust armorer has been found guilty of involutary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

USA Today reports a jury found Hannah Gutierrez-Reed guilty of the charge on Wednesday (Mar. 6) in Sante Fe, New Mexico.  Gutierrez-Reed was found not guilty on a second charge of tampering with evidence.  She was taken into custody immediately after the verdict was read.  Her sentencing will be held at a later date.  She could face a maximum of 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

The armorer was accused of “unprofessional and sloppy” conduct on the set of the film.  She handed Alec Baldwin the gun that ultimately killed Hutchins.  Prosecutor Jason Lewis said Gutierrez-Reed “needed to do a much complete check” than she did to make sure the weapon did not contain live rounds.
