Dillion Thieneman is on the Lott Impact award watch list. Just 1 of 6 sophomores according to Purdue. Thieneman was a dominate presence in the back end of the defense last season. That’s why he was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year as well as a National Freshman Defensive Player of the Year as well. So what is the Lott Award?
“Named after Pro Football Hall of Fame member Ronnie Lott, the Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded to college football’s defensive impact player of the year, someone who exhibits the same characteristics Lott embodied during his distinguished career: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.” – Purdue Sports
Thieneman rewrote the freshman record book at Purdue while being 3rd in the nation in interceptions and tackles last season. The season starts August 31st at home vs Indiana State at Noon.
