Loyer Named Big Ten Player of the Week

How about that! Fletcher Loyer has earned his second career Big Ten Player of the Week award after dominating in Saturday’s game against Arizona. Loyer had 27 points against the Wildcats, the same amount he put up on Nebraska when he won the award last season.

Per Purdue:

“In the win over Arizona on Saturday, Loyer tied his career high with 27 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field and 5-of-9 from 3-point range. He also set a career high with four steals, added three assists and one rebound. For the season, Loyer is averaging 11.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, while shooting 42.3 percent from the field, 39.2 percent from 3-point range and 90.0 percent from the free throw line. In five career games against top-10 ranked teams, Loyer is averaging 19.2 points and 1.8 assists while shooting 16-of-36 (.444) from 3-point range. He scored 27 points against both No. 7 Tennessee and No. 1 Arizona and 18 points against No. 8 Duke and 14 points against No. 6 Gonzaga a year ago. In three games this year, Loyer is averaging 21.3 points against Tennessee, Marquette and Arizona”
