The heat wave has been terrible all over, but one of the hottest places in the states is Arizona. They’ve had pavement so hot, it’s causing burns, scalding hot water from hoses and now even the cacti are wilting.
A scientist at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix told CNN the saguaro cactuses have become “highly stressed” and are collapsing and rotting inside from the extreme temperatures.
Phoenix has had nearly 30 consecutive days with temperatures over 110 degrees.
