Selena Gomez is stepping away from social media for now.
According to Us Weekly, Selena said in a TikTok live video on Thursday (Feb. 23), “I’m very happy. I’m so blessed. I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world and I just couldn’t be happier. I’m good. I love who I am, I don’t care. I’m big, I’m not, I don’t care. I love who I am.” That’s when she announced she’s taking a break from social media. “I’m gonna be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly. And, I’m 30, I’m too old for this. But I love you guys so much, and I will see you guys sooner than later. I’m just gonna take a break from everything.”
The reason for her social media hiatus is due rumors about alleged feuds with Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber. Earlier this month, Selena responded to a TikTok video that claimed that Bieber and Kendall Jenner mocked Gomez in a post. The Only Murders in the Building star replied, “I don’t let these things get me down! Be nice to everyone! x.”
Another TikTok video alleged Kylie and Hailey were shading Gomez about her eyebrows. Jenner replied, “This is reaching. no shade towards selena ever and i didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly.”
This is not the first time Gomez has taken a break from social media. The singer recently returned to Instagram after a four-year break from the platform.
