Shawn Crahan of Slipknot said that the unreleased album recorded during the All Hope is Gone sessions in 2008 could finally see the light of day this year.
The project, which has the tentative title Look Outside Your Window, was recorded by himself, Corey Taylor, Jim Root and Sid Wilson at a separate studio when the recording of All Hope Is Gone with the entire band had stalled.
Crahan told Upset, “It’s an amazing body of work. You will never hear another Corey Taylor like this. The music and the words… it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life.”
He added that the band’s upcoming free agent status could lead to the project getting a proper release. “The good news is…[on] April Fool’s Day 2023, we’re off the label. There are no plans to immediately release something, and we haven’t talked about it, but I would imagine it’ll probably come very soon afterwards. There’s nothing else to do, and it’s ready to go. It’ll be worth the wait.”
