Police are searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery and car theft that occurred Monday evening in the parking lot of Aldi’s on E. Morton Ave.
Jacksonville Police said an unknown male suspect stole the victim’s vehicle and used a weapon during the robbery. The suspect was last seen heading southbound on S. Main St.
Meanwhile, the victim sustained minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene by EMS; shortly after the robbery, several 911 calls reported a reckless driver in the Springfield area.
The Southern View Police Department attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, but the suspect fled. The vehicle was later involved in an accident at 4th St. and Stanford Ave. in Springfield, resulting in injuries to others.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at large.
