Yesterday, the IHSAA released it’s new Sectional draws in a number of sports. You can view all of them here. Some of the biggest moves surrounded football. Harrison has been bumped to 6A while Jeff falls down to 5A. One would have thought that the two could easily switch Sectionals and that would be that. But, it wasn’t so simple. Harrison will not take on Westfield, Carmel, and Zionsville. Jeff had to contend with region teams such as Merriville, but the old Sectional 1 was broken up. Jeff now has McCutcheon, Kokomo, and South Bend Adams of all teams.
West Side sees some familiar faces mixed in with some new comers in Benton Central, Frankton, Maconaquah, Northwestern, Peru, Twin Lakes, and Western. While Central Catholic has a similar situation with Delphi, Lewis Cass, North Montgomery, North Putnam, Seeger, Southmont, Western Boone.
Basketball, Volleyball, and soccer sectionals were all redrawn as well.
