As Pearl Jam gets ready to release their new album, Dark Matter on Friday, April 19, they’ve dropped their first single from it, titled “Wreckage.”
Guitarist and co-founding member, Stone Gossard said: “That one probably has the biggest build for me personally, in terms of hearing it at first and thinking, it’s kind of an Ed song.”
He’s looking forward to playing it on the road and explains how producer Andrew Watt helped him hear the song: “I wasn’t quite aware of its potency until later. Andrew encouraged me to play this little harmonic, acoustic part almost like a Cure melody. I’ve been playing along with the song to relearn it and I’m really looking forward to playing it live.”
Dark Matter is Pearl Jam’s 12th studio album. The band is set for a global tour later this year, hitting nine countries and 25 cities.
