Adam Ant On Tour In The U.S.

By Music News Mar 25, 2024 | 8:00 PM

Currently on the road is Adam Ant, the 80s New Wave hero best known for hits such as "Stand and Deliver," "Prince Charming," "Goody Two Shoes" and "Friend or Foe," as well as Edwardian fashions and war paint. The current tour, which kicked off March 21, offers a career overview heavy on those hits, and even though he'll be turning 70 in November, Ant (real name Stuart Goddard) tells us that he enjoys performing as much now as he did when at the start of his career:

"I feel OK. If it's anything like I feel now, I’m ready to rock, as they say, and I just have to walk that bit harder and get ready to go, but I give it the best I've got for what I got. I give everything I’ve got on stage. That's going to be different now, but I still feel there's a lot of energy to use up on stage and I try to use all of it I've got every single night." Ant's tour coincides with the 35th anniversary of his first album, "Dirt Wears White Sox."

Ant has released nine albums since then, including three albums with his  band The Ants and six as a solo artist. His most recent was "Adam Ant is the Blueblack Hussar in Marrying the Gunner's Daughter" in 2013.
