An American tourist was recently asked to sign a waiver before eating a medium-cooked hamburger at a Hilton hotel restaurant in Toronto. The man requested that the burger be cooked medium. He was informed that the only option was well-done. He was asked to sign the waiver in order to accommodate his “special” request. The form stated that the hotel would not be liable for any damages related to the medium-cooked burger. The man paid for his meal, but did not eat the it because he was disturbed by the waiver. He says, “How can you sign a form like his and still eat it?”
