TOOL: That’s Some Expensive Merch

Tool fans might need a loan or a second job to pick up the most expensive item at the merch table on their fall tour.

They’re selling a limited-edition 30th-anniversary CD reissue of their debut album, Undertow, that’s autographed by all four members with new elaborate packaging and includes a commemorative coin. The cost? $500. Only 7000 copies of the CD are being made, and it will only be sold at the band’s tour stops.

Bassist Justin Chancellor, who designed the reissue, showed it off on the band’s Instagram account. (However, Chancellor isn’t even on Undertow. He replaced original bassist Paul D’ Amour in 1995.)

This isn’t the most expensive piece of merch Tool has ever sold on tour. Last year, they sold autographed copies of the deluxe vinyl version of Fear Inoculum to people who bought Tool Army VIP tickets for $810.
