Ghost played two shows last month at The Forum in Los Angeles where fans couldn’t use their cell phones — and it was a huge hit with frontman Tobias Forge.
He told Metal Hammer, “I have never seen a crowd interact the way that they did since I was in a club band. They were the best shows I’ve ever done with Ghost, just because I didn’t have to see those mobile phones.”
Fans did report that cameras were throughout the arena and Forge confirmed that it was for a film project he’s wanted to do for a long time. “We were essentially shooting a film. And we used two nights of crowds as extras…It’s going to be a film with a concert element. So a lot of what you experienced [at the two LA shows] is going to be part of this project.”
When asked if the film is something similar to Metallica‘s Through The Never, which mixed concert footage with a fictional plot, Forge replied, “In the sense that it’s a concert with something else combined.”
