Purdue went into the portal for it’s 19th player since Coach Walters has taken over and they get O-linemen Austin Johnson from Colorado. I read in an article that his nickname was Big Salsa, and to be honest, that’s pretty awesome. He was one of the many players who decided to leave the Buffs after Coach Prime was brought in. It was thought he’d follow one of his coaches to Charlotte, but here he is, a Boilermaker.
Johnson will have 2 years left according to Gold and Black. He’s the 6th O-lineman Purdue has welcomed this off season via the portal and the 19th player over all.
Johnson was a 3 star out of high school and according to On3, the 6th best prospect out of the state of Colorado. 20 games, 7 starts for the Buffs, appeared in 10 games last year. Listed as 6-4 300lbs now.
