One American Idol contestant is calling out Katy Perry for “mom shaming” her on national television.

E! News reports Sara Beth Liebe appeared on the March 5th episode where the judges commented that she looked very young.  Liebe, who is 25, said, “You guys are my favorite. I have three kids.”  This caused Katy Perry to get up and nearly lay on the table.  Sara Beth said, “If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m going to pass out,” to whick Perry replied, “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much.”

The American Idol contest went to TikTok to share her feelings on Katy’s comment.  “It was embarrassing to have that on TV,” she said.  “It was hurtful. I think that women supporting and uplifting other women is so cool and I think that mom shaming is super lame. I think that it’s hard enough to be a mom and it’s hard enough to be a woman.”  She also thanked other moms for thier support.

Liebe sang Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good” for her audition, and then sang Elton John’s “Bennie and the Jets” at the request of Katy Perry.  Sara Beth received a golden ticket to Hollywood.
