One of the giants of 60s folk rock is gone. David Crosby has died. The cofounder of Crosby, Stills & Nash was 81. He made it into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame twice, the other time with his first band, The Byrds. He sang about ending wars and famine; later, he used Twitter as the bullhorn for his political activism. Crosby was still performing and was slated to play a gig in Santa Barbara next month where he was going to release a new live album. His family released a statement to Variety saying: “Although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us.”
