Fletcher Loyer is the Co-Big Ten & Freshmen player of the week. Among his accolades in the last 7 days:
- Scored a career-high 27 points in 34 minutes in a win over Nebraska with six three pointers, most by a freshman in program history
- Shot 6-12 from three-point range, setting a new freshman program record for made three-pointer
- 14 of his 17 points in the second half, including 11 points in the final 5:35 of the contest against Michigan State.
- Loyer is now averaging 17.7 points and shooting 21-of-47 (.447) from 3-point range in Big Ten play. He also has 20 assists against just 10 turnovers.
Lofty numbers from the Freshman. He was also Freshmen of the week back in early December as well. Fletcher took over that last 5 of that game Monday in East Lansing. He really went thru a dry spell in mid-late December, but he’s found his stroke. “He’s very aggressive, very sure of himself. He’s not scared of the moment.” – Matt Painter.
