The Raising for Riley Golf Outing at the West Lafayette Golf & Country club is tomorrow! Proceeds from the event are going to benefit Riley Children’s Hospital and our Riley Radiothon. Whitney Knoy, event organizer, shared with us why this event means so much to her: ” I almost lost my life back in high school and I’m grateful to God and the staff at Riley every day that I’m still here. We had people come to visit the hospital shocked to see me alive, you could see it on their face. People would come up to me after I got out of hospital, almost shocked to see me out and about. I never understood how bad it was until those moments, people’s faces and peoples words to me after, about how scared they were. I grew up, got married and wanted to try and work at or with Riley. I was asked to do an on air interview in the atrium of Riley Hospital in college, a memory I’ll never forget. I wanted to find a way to stay connected throughout my adult life. I knew there may be others here in Lafayette wanting the same or wanting a place to connect. That lit a spark in me to want to give back here in our community. I also had an itch to utilize my event planning skills and bring the community together. Raising for Riley was created and it’s my family’s way to give back, something important to us. Doesn’t matter how much is raised, it’s money Riley didn’t have before and every dollar counts, plus bringing people together, that’s the goal. We continue to keep it going to fulfill that goal, raising for Riley in an area we feel needs it. ”

1:00pm – Golf Outing Shot Gun Start
1:00-5:00pm – Kids Activities (Putter Ball, Hillbilly Golf, Obstacle Courses, and More!)
5:00pm – Dinner for Golf Outing Participants
7:00pm – Live Music Performed by Dylan Raymond
