Pop Evil Drummer Hayley Cramer Opens Up About Life During The Pandemic

By Music News Jul 26, 2022 | 8:00 PM

Pop Evil drummer Hayley Cramer opened up about not being able to play music during the pandemic. She told the BREWtally Speaking podcast,  "It's a really scary thing. I sat there and I was, like, 'I don't have a Plan B. I don't know who I am without being on the road.' It's a really scary place to be in. I continued to pay my bills, but it [was] not through doing what I do best. And I'm all about… When I do what I do best, I project really good energy out to people. When you follow your passion and you're doing something that you love, you can give that good energy to people. And if you're not doing what you love, it's harder to do that. And I found myself becoming sad or angry or lost."

She continued, "And I just had to navigate through it. And there were a lot of people that have gone through the same thing. Everything you've worked your whole life for and you've trained for…"

Hayley added, "There was an advert in England with this ballet dancer on it going, 'Oh, just retrain to be a computer geek.' Well, she or he trained to be a ballet dancer. That's what they do best. Support that. They're gonna give good to the world by doing that. They're not gonna give good to the world by sitting behind a computer. It was just ridiculous. So, yeah, anybody who's kind of gone through that and is coming through the other side, props.  Because it's weird. It's hard."
