We’ve been hearing for awhile now that Rob Zombie would be attached to an upcoming The Munsters reboot. Rumors were swirling that it would be a series, others said a movie. Yesterday (June 7), Rob finally confirmed things for us on social media!
“Attention Boils and Ghouls!. The rumors are true! My next film project will be the one I’ve been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS! Stay tuned for exciting details as things progress!”

Universal Studios is backing the project and many feel it will be directly released on their streaming platform Peacock once completed.
The original Munsters series ran for only two seasons from 1964-1966, but became a bigger hit after the fact. It spawned a couple of TV movies with the original cast and sequel series in 1988. A rebooted drama version was also attempted under the titled Mockingbird Lane. That was scrapped after only filming the pilot, which later aired as a 2012 Halloween special.
We now await updates from Rob.
